RamShield® High Containment (HC), the latest addition to Safe Direction’s RamShield guardrail system, is the standout system in its class for low deflection and safe containment and redirection of heavy mass vehicles.
Terry Colquhoun, Safe Direction’s Business Development Director, said that Safe Direction, through its customers, recognised there was a big gap in the market for a low deflection MASH TL4 barrier.
RamShield® HC has a MASH TL3 deflection of 1.0m, and a MASH TL4 deflection of 1.1m. Colquhoun said that the low deflection of RamShield® HC provides a solution option for often encountered tight road formations and or hazards in close proximity to the road.
RamShield HC utilises the conventional Charlie post with a patented release tab to control the timing of rail disengagement from the post. Using the Charlie post means all installation contractors have existing equipment to install the system. Moreover, the installation machines can install the total system incorporating the terminal end posts, RamShield W-Beam posts and RamShield HC posts without the need to be reconfigured for the different post types.
Colquhoun said that the performance and simplicity of installation make RamShield HC the standout product in its class.
