The TAU-XR is a Low Maintenance Crash Cushion providing rapid repair & reusability of components following design impacts. Developed by Linsday Transportation of the USA, the TAU-XR is fully re-directive and non-gating, providing safe vehicle containment and ride-down decelerations. The system can be secured directly to a concrete pad or asphalt road surface and is suitable for permanent or temporary (workzone) installations.
Product Manager, Wes Refahi comments, ‘the TAU-XR is a MASH TL3 compliant crash cushion and has been recommended for acceptance by the Austroads Safety Barrier Safety Panel (ASBAP). The system features crushable aluminium tubes designed to absorb vehicle kinetic energy. These tubes can be replaced in under 30 minutes reducing disruption to traffic and minimising time worker spend on the roadside.’
